Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong background in general maintenance and HVAC systems to join our team and help maintain a well-functioning living environment.

Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks throughout the property. This includes diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and responding to emergency maintenance calls. The ideal candidate will be a reliable, detail-oriented individual with a broad knowledge of building systems and general repair techniques, along with an HVAC certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance for apartments and common areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and address issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, ensuring all work meets safety and efficiency standards.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders efficiently to minimize resident inconvenience.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, responding promptly to after-hours and emergency maintenance calls.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and company vehicles are maintained and properly utilized.
  • Collaborate with property management and other team members to prioritize and coordinate maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
  • HVAC certification (EPA Type II or Universal preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance systems.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment, including basic power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents professionally.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.30 - $22.99 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekends as needed
