Maintenance Technician

Vitalix is a family-owned livestock feed manufacturing company located in Sidney, NE. We are looking to hire a motivated and dedicated individual who has the desire to begin a career with a growing Ag company.

The Mechanic must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and perform complex maintenance and preventive maintenance on a manufacturing line and mechanical systems.

Job Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent

Ability to lift and move 75lbs

Possess Basic Math Skills

Two years of experience

Ability to use hand tools and power tools in the performance of repairs

Knowledge of theory and operation of major mechanical equipment and systems

Able to operate a forklift, scissor lift, telehandler, skid steer, and other motorized equipment

Valid driver's license

Will train a suitable, eager and hard working candidate.

Preferred Requirements

Three years of experience

Electrical knowledge

Pipe fitting, properly use a pipe threader

Experience in the use of rigging, such as chain falls, chokers, slings, nylon belts, eyebolts, shackles, and beam clamps

Experience with precision measurement and calibration, including measuring fits of mating parts

Experience with the repair of Gate, Globe, Plug and Check Valves. (Repacking, bushing, and bonnet repair, gate, and seat repairs)

Steam control systems

Boiler experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
