Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintaining of mechanical equipment within the facility that aid in the manufacturing of all company products in a safe and sanitary work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all industrial equipment in plant including:

• conveyors
• hydraulics
• pneumatics
• welding
• gearboxes/drives
• valves/pumps
• Works safely and follows all SOP’s on lock out of equipment.

Maintains documentation of work order forms and completion of daily PM’s.

• Supports general plant safety, food safety, food defense initiatives, good manufacturing practices, SQF and internal audits and product quality always.
• Participates in root cause problem solving & troubleshooting issues.
• Performs preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance.
• Capable of overhauling most process systems and equipment to ensure optimal equipment up-time.
• Works cross-functionally with production and sanitation associates to provide effective maintenance support and to protect food safety and quality.
• Identifies potential cost savings and cost avoidance measures.
• Understands levels of line downtime caused by equipment issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to work varying days (including occasional weekends) and shifts in order to meet deadlines.COMPETENCIES
• Good communication skills; be able to communicate to floor personnel and senior management.
• Bilingual preferred; or ability to work with diverse group of personnel
• Proficient in computer programs but not limited to Word and Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sit/stand for an extended period
• Be able to work extended hours, including some evenings and weekends
• Able to travel occasionally
• Able to lift 25-50 pounds
• Able to function in a fast-paced, office environment
