Maintenance Technician

In this role, you are responsible for preserving the excellent condition and functionality of our premises and equipment by maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other physical structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on all equipment and machinery following the recommended procedures, manufacturer’s specifications, and maintenance schedule throughout the life of the device.
  • Maintains and repairs all equipment, including CNC machines, routers, edge banders, hydraulic lifts, electric hoists, garage door openers, tractors, trailers, and small tools.
  • Inspects buildings, equipment, and systems to identify and report on any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Completes a variety of facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment upkeep, and water filtration system upkeep.
  • Manages heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
  • Duties may include painting, drywall, plaster, plumbing and electrical repair, woodwork, and structural repair.
  • Maintains and installs electrical systems and fixtures, running conduit and pulling wire as needed.
  • Troubleshoots common issues, repairs malfunctioning equipment, and repairs damaged structures.
  • Supports the Maintenance Team with general maintenance projects and installations.
  • Installs equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Able to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Follows strict adherence to relevant federal and local guidelines for safety, including OSHA required regulations.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area; cleans up work area, putting tools, parts, and supplies away upon completion of the job.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are inspected before use, maintained well, and kept in good working order.
  • Performs general maintenance tasks including groundskeeping and snow removal, as needed.
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance Team to ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards.
  • Participates in problem solving teams and offers suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Stays current on industry and maintenance standards and procedures.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Two or more years’ related maintenance experience. Vocational training in relevant field a plus.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such units of measure, tolerances, basic geometry, and basic algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge including maintenance management software, and Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Two or more years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of skilled trades, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Skills with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to apply general maintenance techniques to troubleshoot problems and offer suggestions for continuous improvements.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented, and organized.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage stress in a constructive way.
  • Team oriented, collaborative, and professional.
