Maintenance Technician

Grandpappy Point Marina is looking for a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician to keep our docks, boathouse, cabins, and grounds in top condition for our guests and slip holders on Lake Texoma. This is a hands-on, outdoor role at a property that runs year-round — if you take pride in your work and like seeing the direct results of what you do every day, we want to hear from you.

This hands-on role is essential to maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our property.

What you'll do:

Docks & Marina

• Inspect and maintain docks, slips, gangways, cleats, bumpers, and pilings — fixing or flagging issues as they come up
• Clear debris from dock surfaces and the water's edge on a regular basis
• Assist the marina team during busy periods and help guests with vessel tie-ups as needed

Cabins & Facilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on guest cabins: doors, windows, fixtures, basic carpentry, and upkeep between stays
• Keep the boathouse and associated facilities clean, organized, and structurally sound
• Assist with basic plumbing repairs — faucets, toilets, hose bibs, and waterline hookups at slips
• Communicate repair status and work orders to the office so guests stay informed

Grounds

• Handle general groundskeeping — mowing, trimming, trash pickup, and keeping the property looking sharp
• Maintain the shoreline and dock-adjacent areas throughout the season

What we're looking for:

• Experience working at a marina, boatyard, or on the water — this matters most
• Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand tools confidently
• Comfortable with general property repairs: carpentry, hardware, fixtures, and basic mechanical work
• Solid work ethic — shows up, follows through, and takes ownership of their area
• Friendly and professional with guests and fellow staff
• Valid Texas driver's license

A Plus — Not Required:

• Basic plumbing knowledge (marina slip hookups, cabin fixtures)
• Experience with welding and/or cutting torch

Physical Requirements:

This is an active, outdoor role. You'll be on your feet all day — lifting up to 75 lbs., working on docks and ladders, and operating in Texas weather through every season. Must be comfortable working near and over open water.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
