Maintenance Technician – Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and highly organized Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong technical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to quality work and teamwork. This role requires someone who takes pride in their work, can manage tasks independently, and contributes positively to the overall operations of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the property, including:
  • Plumbing: snaking, drain cleaning, pipe repairs, fixture replacements.
  • Basic Electrical: outlets, switches, lighting, troubleshooting simple electrical issues.
  • Carpentry: framing, door repairs, locks, molding/trim, cabinet repairs.
  • Tile work: installation and repairs (bathrooms, kitchens, floors).
  • Drywall/Sheetrock: patching, finishing, taping, sanding, painting.
  • General repairs: appliances, light HVAC support, minor exterior maintenance, and preventative maintenance tasks.

  • Diagnose issues accurately and provide effective solutions.
  • Complete work orders in a timely, organized, and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and updates using property management software (training provided).
  • Communicate clearly with management, tenants, and team members.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, professional work environment.
  • Assist with emergency calls when needed (rotating or as assigned).

Qualifications:

  • Strong plumbing skills, especially snaking and drain cleaning (required).
  • Solid experience in general maintenance, including electrical, carpentry, tile, and drywall repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and think through solutions independently.
  • Organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Comfortable using mobile apps and property management software (training provided).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and committed to the success of the property—not just looking for a paycheck.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks as needed.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
