The Opportunity:
Seeking an experienced maintenance technician with strong administrative and computer skills to join our Cabin Works team. In this role, you will perform home inspection walk throughs and a variety of maintenance repair tasks at our clients residential and commercial properties. You will also assist the maintenance department with administrative support, including scheduling, dispatching, managing special projects, and communicating property visit reports to clients. This position offers growth opportunities to take on new responsibilities and expand your role within the department as the department and company continue to grow.

Job Details:
- This is a full-time, year round position at 27-40 hours per week (determined upon hire based on experience and applicant preference). The maintenance team works Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with weekend and after hours availability on rotation with other technicians.
- This position is a hybrid maintenance field role and office role, with the goal of working 20%-60% in the field as a maintenance technician and the remaining 80%-40% in an administration support position for the maintenance department. (These ratios may change based on job scheduling needs and will be refined over time with team discussions.)
- Perform variety of maintenance repair tasks for residential and commercial clients, including primarily:
- Recurring house check/inspections to document current state of property and look for and report potential maintenance issues
- Light plumbing (toilet repair/replace, faucet repair/replace, clogs, leaks, garbage disposals, water intrusion stabilizing)
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair (light fixtures, outlet replacement, resetting breakers, replacing smoke detectors, alarms)
- Appliance troubleshooting and repair/replacement
- Basic HVAC troubleshooting and stabilizing (fireplace functionality, thermostat functionality, heat, hot water, etc)
- Basic carpentry (repair damage, measuring)
- Window, door and lock repair and replacement
- Maintenance cleanup, including trash pickup, pressure washing, sweeping
- Pest control, including looking for and resolving issues (sealing holes, setting traps, resetting traps)
- Drywall repair, interior painting, exterior staining
- Repair miscellaneous items (chairs, gates, caulk application, flooring, stone, grout, etc)
- Purchase and delivery of items to properties as needed
- Continually build and develop technical skills for various types of service work. Ongoing training opportunities provided (we utilize coursework through a National Home Inspector program)
- Attend weekly team meetings in person and virtually (with cell phone or computer) to discuss jobs with the team and receive new work order assignments.
- Implement onsite problem solving skills to complete work orders
- Report daily detailed tracking of time, including job notes and pictures
- Assist the maintenance department with administrative support, including scheduling, dispatching, managing special projects, and communicating property visit reports to clients.
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay $23-$30 per hour depending on experience and with room for advancement. Starting pay rate determined after the interview process and evaluated with raise potential at the first performance review at 6 months. Overtime pay when providing after hours and weekend support through the emergency response program, in addition to fuel card bonus.

- Signing bonus of $200 after 80 hours and 1 month of employment
- Retention bonus of $250 after 500 hours and 6 months of employment

- Clean driving record, current driver's license.
- Pass a background check.
- Have basic tools for daily use (specialty tools are provided to check-out of inventory for use)
- Have experience in property maintenance and strong technical skills and ability.

- Good physical health and stamina and the ability to pickup and carry up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards
- Work indoors and outdoors, sometimes in tight spaces and must be able to adapt to conditions and circumstances.
- Ability to use a computer and smartphone to receive work orders, submit timesheets, check schedule daily, submit job updates, take pictures, and effectively communicate with Cabin Works team.
