Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Maintenance Technician specialized in appliances for example, washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, rangehood and dishwasher with knowledge in HVAC systems to join our condominium maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and efficiency of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment across our facilities along with trouble shooting the appliances. Your expertise will help maintain a comfortable environment for staff and customers alike, while supporting the overall integrity of our building systems. Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain residential appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, etc.)
- Install appliances when needed
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues with mechanical, electrical, and control components of HVAC equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system calibrations, and component replacements to minimize downtime.
- Use tools like ohmmeters and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to test electrical circuits and automate system controls.
- Collaborate with facilities maintenance teams on projects involving welding, electrical work, or mechanical repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Support other facilities maintenance duties including plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and residential painting as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
- Lead small teams during scheduled maintenance or emergency responses to ensure efficient resolution.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with HVAC systems in a facilities maintenance or manufacturing environment. Must be licensed.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by familiarity with schematics and technical drawings.
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting wiring issues and working with PLCs and ohmmeters.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and facility diagrams fluently in English.
- Skilled in welding techniques for repair or fabrication tasks related to HVAC or general facility needs.
- Experience supervising or leading teams within a maintenance setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for tracking work orders and maintenance history.
- Hands-on experience with residential painting is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and external vendors effectively.
- Valid certifications related to facilities maintenance, electrical work, or HVAC systems are highly desirable.
