Maintenance Technician - Chicago

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all equipment and facilities, performing routine maintenance for apartments, troubleshooting issues, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Duties

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform routine plumbing troubleshooting and take preventative measures
• Work together with maintenance staff, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any facility-related issues.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Respond promptly to service requests from staff or management, ensuring high levels of customer service. Service requests consist of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and the like.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as required.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English for effective communication with team members and management.
• Experience in facilities maintenance with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
• Familiarity with logic controllers and their applications in maintenance tasks.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical schematics.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with staff and management.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques related to maintenance practices.
