About the Crane Mechanic Role:

C&B Piping, LLC is looking for a reliable and experienced Crane Mechanic/Technician to join our maintenance team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, enjoys working independently, is a self-starter, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes for our Operations team.

This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and performing preventative maintenance on our overhead cranes, hoists, and other industrial equipment. Our ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting background with previous work in maintaining crane equipment and making safety a top priority.

What you'll be Doing as the Crane Mechanic Operator:

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, maintain, and repair overhead cranes, hoist, and other equipment as needed and all machine components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and complete and document repairs in a timely manner.
  • Perform safety inspections and ensure equipment complies with our company and OSHA standards.
  • Always maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
  • Work independently along with other maintenance and operations teams, minimizing downtime and keeping everyone up to date.
  • Assist with installations, upgrades, modifications, and support additional maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and keeping your area clean, safe, and orderly.

Work and/or Education experience for the Crane Mechanic Operator:

  • Previous experience as a crane technician, industrial mechanic, or related role highly preferred.
  • Must know mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Have a knowledge of troubleshooting motors, controls, drives, and heavy machinery equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret electrical and technical drawings along with manuals with impeccable problem-solving skills and ability to work through to completion on repairs/updates.
  • Have a strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; previous experience with technical training or certificates are preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, dependable, and takes pride in the quality of their work.

Physical and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize equipment safely for all other.
  • Ability to bend, stand, kneel, and work in industrial environment for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and indoors in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work at varying heights and climb ladders safely.
