Maintenance Technician (Food and Beverage)

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all equipment and machinery is in good working condition. Also responsible for making repairs and performing preventative maintenance while following all company policies & processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on the machinery and building, as needed
  • Must know and understand the emergency procedures in the event of equipment failure
  • Repair equipment as needed due to breakdowns
  • Responsible for overseeing maintenance of the facility and all equipment.
  • Must work closely with production to ensure that all product is produced in a timely manner with the highest food safety and quality standards
  • Proficient in electrical and mechanical work and troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot all motor controls such as HMI's and PLC's.
  • Ability to diagnose automation components such as HMI, PLCs, I/O, VFDs
  • Be able to identify communication systems on automation devices.
  • Ability to do basic programming of PLC's
  • Ability to design and implement ideas and innovations to successful projects to increase equipment efficacy, safety, and reliability
  • Sanitary welding a plus but not a requirement

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or (GED) is required.
  • Technical or vocational degree in related fields
  • Bakery experience is strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related industrial maintenance experience is required.

Skills

  • PLC Skills - ability to troubleshoot and diagnose low voltage systems using prints and a meter to diagnose issues; ability to connect to PLC via laptop and software; ability to write and read ladder logic to assist in troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and understand machine drawings.
  • Must be proficient using computer applications, spreadsheets, e-mail, SAP and/or other related systems.
  • Must be proficient in: welding, cutting, fabrication, mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Basic electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic skills are also required.

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
