ARETE REAL ESTATE LLC is building an in-house property management platform to support a growing portfolio. We are seeking a bilingual Maintenance Manager with strong plumbing expertise to take ownership of all maintenance operations, set the standard for quality, and build efficient, tech-driven systems that protect and enhance asset value.
This is a critical leadership role for someone who takes pride in their work, operates with urgency, and wants to build something from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all property maintenance operations across the portfolio
- Coordinate and execute unit turns, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Handle and diagnose plumbing issues (primary skill focus)
- Manage and communicate with vendors and subcontractors
- Build and manage maintenance schedules and systems
- Respond to maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution
- Conduct property inspections and identify repair needs
- Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within budget
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
- Coordinate with Property Manager on resident needs and priorities
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local/state regulations
- Troubleshoot issues and implement long-term solutions
- Assist in capital improvement planning and execution
- Utilize property management and maintenance software systems to track work orders and workflows
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years experience in property maintenance (multi-family preferred)
- Strong plumbing experience REQUIRED (core function of the role)
- Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and general construction
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using maintenance/work order systems
- Experience managing vendors and/or maintenance teams
- Ability to diagnose problems and execute solutions efficiently
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- EPA certification preferred (not required)

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $58,000 – $68,000 (targeted range for Albuquerque market)
