Job Description

Summary of Position:

As a Maintenance Tech I you will be performing general facility maintenance and repairs. You will be working cross functionally with other departments helping with daily equipment set-up, and organization of working areas. You will be responsible for assisting senior technicians with repairs and troubleshooting as assigned. This is an entry level position with opportunity for growth.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting and repairs of the greenhouse and related systems.
Perform daily utility meter readings
Complete general facility repairs, including but not limited to, roof glass, insulated metal panels, irrigation systems, office/break room repairs, plumbing, and overall facility organization.
Perform exterior building maintenance, including roof cleaning and painting, dust control, compost removal, insect netting repair etc.
Work safely and ensure all OSHA guidelines are being followed
Wear necessary PPE to perform all tasks and protect product
Assist with cleaning up after repairs
Train on new maintenance overtime to advance to next level

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Able to stand, squat, or kneel for extended periods of time
Repetitive arm, shoulder, and hand movement the entirety of the shift
Ability to lift to 50lbs

Education and Experience:

Valid Driver’s License
Forklift Certified, preferred
1 year of maintenance experience preferred
1 year of experience working with heavy equipment and/or irrigation systems preferred

Supervisory:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment:

Greenhouse, 50%

The temperatures in the greenhouse very depending on the weather outside
Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year
PPE must be worn at all times

Packhouse, 50%

The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38° F to preserve product quality
PPE must be worn at all times

Physical Requirements:

Constantly ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
Occasionally performing heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.
Occasionally operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
