Position Objective
Ensure the service and maintenance of equipment to support established manufacturing operations, while strictly adhering to Food Safety and Quality Assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, including greasing, oiling, and inspection of equipment.
- Inspect and maintain:
- Bearings, oil/fluid levels, chain and belt tension/conditions
- Sprockets, pins, gears, shears, and keepers
- Guards, brackets, rollers, and welds
- Monitor conveying and manufacturing system performance.
Operations & Equipment Support
- Maintain working knowledge of the entire plant, including unloading, processing, and packaging operations.
- Perform repairs and maintenance using hand and power tools.
- Troubleshoot and conduct basic operational maintenance on equipment.
- Fabricate parts using basic fabrication tools, including welders and torches.
Material Handling
- Safely operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed.
Chemical Handling
- Safely handle, use, and dispense maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing chemicals.
General Duties
- Follow all work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform additional duties across departments as assigned by supervisors or management.
- Maintain flexibility to work day or night shifts, including shift changes to meet operational needs.
Food Quality Responsibilities
- Monitor equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance checks.
- Report any quality concerns to the FS/QA Manager or designated company official.
Food Safety Responsibilities
- Comply with company cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) program.
- Set up and perform HIP (as applicable).
- Follow sanitation and maintenance procedures during all work activities.
- Report any food safety issues immediately to the FS/QA Manager or appropriate personnel.
Occupational Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Report safety hazards or risks to management or the safety committee.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including:
- Lifting, bending, crawling, kneeling, and reaching
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Climbing ladders
- Working in hot, dusty, or industrial environments
