Maintenance Technician (Nights)

Position Objective

Ensure the service and maintenance of equipment to support established manufacturing operations, while strictly adhering to Food Safety and Quality Assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including greasing, oiling, and inspection of equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain:
  • Bearings, oil/fluid levels, chain and belt tension/conditions
  • Sprockets, pins, gears, shears, and keepers
  • Guards, brackets, rollers, and welds
  • Monitor conveying and manufacturing system performance.

Operations & Equipment Support

  • Maintain working knowledge of the entire plant, including unloading, processing, and packaging operations.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance using hand and power tools.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct basic operational maintenance on equipment.
  • Fabricate parts using basic fabrication tools, including welders and torches.

Material Handling

  • Safely operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed.

Chemical Handling

  • Safely handle, use, and dispense maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing chemicals.

General Duties

  • Follow all work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform additional duties across departments as assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Maintain flexibility to work day or night shifts, including shift changes to meet operational needs.

Food Quality Responsibilities

  • Monitor equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks.
  • Report any quality concerns to the FS/QA Manager or designated company official.

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Comply with company cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) program.
  • Set up and perform HIP (as applicable).
  • Follow sanitation and maintenance procedures during all work activities.
  • Report any food safety issues immediately to the FS/QA Manager or appropriate personnel.

Occupational Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Report safety hazards or risks to management or the safety committee.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including:
  • Lifting, bending, crawling, kneeling, and reaching
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Climbing ladders
  • Working in hot, dusty, or industrial environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Experience:
