Job Summary
A candidate awarded this position will be responsible for the upkeep of industrial machinery. Typical tasks involve the tear down, repair and re-assembly of machinery and machine components, and, when necessary, troubleshooting malfunctioning machinery in the plant.
Principle Responsibilities
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work detail and procedures.
- Moves machinery and equipment.
- Installs equipment components such as shafting, Augers, Drive components, Bearings etc.
- Aligns machines and equipment. Including motor couplings, shafts, gearboxes and drivelines
- Assembles machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundations or other structures as required.
- Operates Pipe threaders, Cutting torch, band saws, drill press, hydraulic press, hoists etc.
- Properly lubricates machines and equipment per assigned schedules and PM requirements.
· Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
· Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
· Examines machinery parts for defects, breakage and excessive wear.
· Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions and to confirm LOTO requirements using DMM and other testing methods.
· Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
· Properly Reassemble equipment after completion of PM inspections and repairs.
· Cut and weld carbon steel and Stainless-steel using SMAW, GMAW and TIG processes to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and to assemble equipment.
· Repairs/Replaces damaged components of the pallet racking system including Uprights, Beams, Decking, Dividers, Anchors, Column Boots, Row spacers and bumper guards.

· Read / interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine repair procedures.
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
- Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components.
- Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation & for defects, such as loose or bad mechanical connections, damaged electrical conductors and ground faults.
- Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions.
- Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators about equipment problems.
- Maintain a good knowledge of the current inventory of spare parts and communicate shortages or concerns.

Education/Experience:
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Industrial Motor controls maintenance experience a plus
Powered Industrial truck operations and Maintenance experience a plus.
Automatic Stretch wrapping machinery maintenance a plus.
Automatic bag closing machinery maintenance a plus.
Milling and grain elevator related machinery maintenance a plus
