Position Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Intern to join our team! The Maintenance trainee is responsible for maintenance service within our plants and develop maintenance skills and knowledge to transition into a Maintenance Mechanic role.

Responsibilities

• Job shadowing Maintenance Mechanics in planned, unplanned and corrective maintenance on all equipment.
• Assist in the repair, installation and maintenance of all plant equipment and buildings.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance procedures as required with guidance from assigned mentor.
• Assists with preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to Maintenance Manager or Lead person and takes appropriate action.
• Adheres to our plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
• Responsible for following food safety, legal and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job. responsibilities such as: GMP’s, food safety, product quality, food security, etc.
• Adheres to all common safety practices or rules including the wearing of protective equipment as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager or Lead person.

• Ability and willingness to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to receive written and verbal directions.
• Ability to understand general work processes.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods of time and take frequent walks.
• Ability to work in a cold environment.
• Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
