Maintenance Worker II

The purpose of this position is to provide semi-skilled maintenance, modification, and repair work in an assigned area.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides semi-skilled maintenance work in various areas as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning equipment repairs and maintenance, upholstery, and electrical door work.
  • Troubleshoots, examines, and determines solutions for repair, maintenance, or modification.
  • Fabricates replacements for worn or broken parts using welders, lathes, drill presses, shaping, or milling machines by measuring, cutting, using patterns, sketches, and design specifications.
  • Repairs electrical, plumbing, doors, and upholstery by using hand tools and sewing machines.
  • Follows work order instructions to determine product specifications and communicates to Maintenance Coordinator and Facilities Site Manager upon completion of work order.
  • Estimates types and amounts of parts and materials needed for project completion.
  • Communicates and coordinates with Facilities Site Manager on purchasing parts for repair.
  • Assists Maintenance Workers with work orders, preventative maintenance, manual labor, and various projects.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the casino’s property.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

This position works under the supervision of the Facilities Site Manager and may also receive direction from the Facilities Shift Manager. This position does not supervise but may give direction and guidance to Maintenance Workers and Facilities Workers as needed.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Two years’ experience in a skilled specialty such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and upholstery are required.
  • Must be proficient in the use of the tools required for furniture repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Must be skilled in the operation of commercial sewing machines and related equipment.
  • Must have a good driving record and valid driving abstract.
  • Additional education or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is subject to extended periods of sitting, stooping, balancing, bending, climbing ladders lifting up to 70lbs, and handling materials.
  • Must perform accurately, use precision, exert finger dexterity and fine manipulation during maintenance, repair or modification
  • Must be able to read and interpret detailed maintenance instructions, travel to various casino locations, and use of basic mathematic skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays

All applicants must obtain a Class III B license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.
