Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Make Ready - Remodel Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing residential units for occupancy by performing remodeling, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Your expertise will ensure that each property meets quality standards, is visually appealing, and is fully functional for new tenants or owners. Duties
- Perform remodeling tasks including painting, drywall repair, flooring installation, and cabinetry work to prepare units for occupancy
- Conduct electrical work such as troubleshooting circuits, replacing outlets, and installing fixtures using schematics and electrical tools like ohmmeters
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other mechanical systems to diagnose issues and perform repairs efficiently
- Operate welding equipment safely to repair or modify structural components as needed
- Maintain facilities by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to complete repairs accurately
- Supervise or assist in team projects, ensuring timely completion of remodels while maintaining high quality standards
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with residents and team members throughout the remodeling process
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, remodeling, or related trades with a focus on residential properties
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience and familiarity with schematics and troubleshooting tools like ohmmeters
- Skilled in residential painting, drywall repair, flooring installation, welding, and general carpentry
- Supervising or leadership experience is preferred to coordinate team efforts efficiently
- Ability to read technical schematics and operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) effectively
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear instructions and documentation
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces safely
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes or facilities maintenance practices is a plus
