Make Ready

Make Ready is responsible for preparing vacant apartment units for new tenants. This role involves performing various tasks to ensure that the units are clean, well-maintained, and ready for occupancy. The Make Ready Person will work closely with the maintenance team and property management to ensure that all make-ready tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough cleaning of vacant apartment units, including floors, walls, windows, appliances, and fixtures.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks to address unit issues, such as plumbing problems, electrical fixes, or damaged fixtures.
• Paint or touch up walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to refresh the unit's appearance.
• Inspect and address flooring needs, including carpet cleaning, tile repairs, or hardwood refinishing.
• Check, clean, and service appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and washers/dryers.
• Replace or update light fixtures, faucets, cabinet hardware, and other fixtures as necessary.
• Ensure proper heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems functioning through basic maintenance and filter replacements.
• Test and ensure the proper operation of smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and other safety features.
• Address any pest control needs, conducting necessary treatments to prevent infestations.
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as door repairs, lock replacements, and caulking.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in general maintenance, cleaning, or related field is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance repairs.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working on ladders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and work efficiently.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and property management.
• Current Driver’s License and auto insurance.

Experience:

• Previous experience in apartment maintenance, make-ready, or related field is preferred.

Reporting Structure:

• The Make Ready Person will directly report to the Property Manager or Lead Maintenance Technician.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
