Male Ballet Instructor

En Pointe School of Ballet is now looking for a male ballet instructor to join our ballet family and teach our men's classes and partnering classes. We are located in an elegant building with 3 large studios in Jordan Landing in West Jordan, Utah.

We have a successful boys and men's program. We are a non competitive studio and our students perform in a full length classical ballet annually the first weekend in June and The Nutcracker in December. Our curriculum is based on the Cecchetti method. Other methods are welcome if you are willing to adapt to also include Cecchetti and follow our syllabus.

* Thursday evening 4:00-9:00 pm: men's class, beginning and intermediate partnering, & principals and soloists

* Some Friday and Saturday rehearsals during performance preparation. 6:00-9:00pm

* Possibility of teaching Boys classes Wednesday 4:00-6:00pm & Friday 4:00-6:00pm

* Occasional substitute teaching Tuesday evening 4:00-9:00 pm: Men's technique classes, advanced partnering class, Principal & Soloists Rehearsals

There are also opportunities for substituting sometimes for a month at a time on other weekdays, since we have a few instructors who are professional dancers and still performing. Our Ballet program is year round with 3 weeks off for Summer break end of June - July 4th and 3 weeks for Christmas.

This is an employee position, not a 1099 contracted position. Fixed weekly schedule and additional hours possible through substituting other classes as well as paid time backstage and during picture days and extra rehearsals. Extra income is available through accepting extra projects such as rehearsal schedule making, private lessons, etc.

Instructors must be fun, encouraging, nurturing, and have knowledge of ballet terminology, methodology, partnering, and be capable of creating lesson plans and choreographing as well as following and teaching choreography from previous performances.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
