Mall Security Officer - FT Midnight Shift

NOW HIRING - FULL TIME SECURITY OFFICER - MIDNIGHT SHIFT

Your schedule will be consistent, at 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, with three consecutive days off. Shifts are Thursday thru Sunday, from 10pm to 8am.

EXPERIENCE:

We require at least one year of security, law enforcement, or military related service. Please ensure your resume reflects this service requirement or you will not be considered.

OVERVIEW:

We are searching for a reliable, trustworthy Mall Security Officer to join our team. The Mall Security Officer’s responsibilities include performing regular patrols and observations, reporting irregularities, providing crowd control, answering queries, assisting customers and mall employees, and always maintaining an orderly and peaceful shopping environment for all.

To be successful as a Mall Security Officer at Fashion Square Mall, you should be able to react appropriately in stressful conditions while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Officers will primarily work day and evening shifts (unless otherwise specified above), but should have the availability to work occasional overnight shifts. Security is 24 hours, so we do work weekends and holidays.

Mall Security Officer Responsibilities:

• Patrol by foot, vehicle and bicycle on mall property, both interior and exterior areas to monitor the premises to detect any irregularities, which may include suspicious behavior or security breaches.
• Responding to calls for help and contacting law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel if required.
• Assisting during emergencies, ensuring minimal injury to people and damage to property.
• Keeping calm when alarms are triggered and escorting people to safety.
• Removing anyone who is not following the mall code of conduct.
• Working as part of a team in a paramilitary environment to ensure the safety of mall employees and customers.
• Writing daily report logs and incident reports.
• Completing all tasks with the utmost integrity and professionalism.

Mall Security Officer Requirements:

• Previous security, military or law enforcement experience - minimum 1 year.
• High school diploma.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Clean criminal record.
• Able to pass a comprehensive drug screen, including marijuana.
• Proficient in English.
• Knowledge of computers and the ability to type.

Mall Security Officer Qualifications:

• Wearing security uniforms for high visibility while maintaining a professional and well groomed appearance.
• Open availability to work day, afternoon and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, climb stairs and walk the property for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and respond quickly and urgently to emergency situations.
• Excellent observation skills & professionalism.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Sound knowledge of safety protocols.
• Ability to deescalate stressful situations.

State of Michigan Requirements:

Per Michigan Act 330 (MCL 338.1060 10(1)(c) - all applicants must not have a criminal record with convictions for a felony at any time in the past, or misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol related offenses.
