Management Trainee

Cribley Materials is hiring a Management Trainee to develop into a future Site Leader within our organization.

This is a hands-on, accelerated leadership path for someone who wants to build a real operational career in logistics or construction materials. Whether you’re a recent college graduate ready to move fast, or early in your career and looking to step into something more demanding and rewarding, this program is designed to prepare you to run a site end-to-end.

You will learn the business from the ground up - not from behind a desk. You’ll be in the yard, in dispatch, with customers, and alongside the crew. By the end of the program, you will be capable of independently leading a Cribley Materials location.

This is not an observational program. It is an ownership track.

What You’ll Do

You will rotate through every core function of the operation with increasing responsibility:

Operations & Production

  • Learn daily yard operations, inventory flow, safety protocols, and material handling
  • Work directly with the crew loading trucks, staging material, and solving production challenges
  • Develop a deep understanding of operational efficiency

Logistics & Dispatch

  • Coordinate inbound rail cars and outbound trucking
  • Forecast inventory based on customer demand
  • Manage scheduling to meet delivery timelines and customer expectations

Customer & Sales Exposure

  • Engage with regional customers to understand buying behavior and process
  • Support pricing conversations and order fulfillment

Leadership Development

  • Learn how to hire, train, and hold team members accountable
  • Build culture and set performance expectations
  • Make decisions under pressure that keep the site running smoothly

Throughout the program, you will partner directly with company leadership to understand how the business scales, where margins are made, and how strong operators drive growth.

Program Outcome

By completion, you will be prepared to:

  • Run a Cribley Materials site independently
  • Lead a team with authority and credibility
  • Own operational KPIs
  • Manage dispatch, logistics, and inventory planning
  • Represent the business with customers, vendors, and partners
  • Make sound operational decisions without constant oversight

The expectation is that you leave the program not as a trainee, but as a leader.

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is best suited for someone who:

  • Is highly motivated and career-ambitious
  • Wants responsibility early and is willing to earn it
  • Is comfortable working outdoors and in industrial environments
  • Leads by example and isn’t afraid to step into the work
  • Stays composed under pressure
  • Takes ownership rather than waiting for direction
  • Wants to grow with a business, not just work for one

This is not a desk job. You will spend significant time on your feet, in the yard, and in active operations.
