Job Description

Role Overview

The Doctor Payout Executive is responsible for calculating, validating, and disbursing doctor payouts in accordance with hospital policies, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. The role ensures accurate, timely, and transparent compensation for consultants, visiting doctors, and full-time clinicians while maintaining coordination between clinical, billing, and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Doctor Payout Calculation

  • Calculate monthly/periodic payouts for doctors based on:

    • Revenue share models

    • Fixed + variable compensation

    • Procedure-wise or specialty-wise incentives

  • Apply agreed percentages, slabs, caps, and exclusions as per contracts.

2. Data Collection & Validation

  • Coordinate with Billing, MIS, and IT teams to obtain:

    • OPD/IPD revenue data

    • Procedure and consultation volumes

    • Package and discount details

  • Reconcile billing data with HIS/ERP systems.

3. Contract & Policy Compliance

  • Maintain and interpret doctor contracts, MOUs, and payout agreements.

  • Ensure payouts are aligned with:

    • Hospital payout policies

    • Statutory deductions (TDS, GST where applicable)

    • Internal audit requirements

4. Disbursement & Accounting

  • Process payout statements and coordinate with Accounts for payments.

  • Ensure accurate booking of doctor payout expenses in the ledger.

  • Support month-end and year-end closures.

5. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare payout summaries, variance analysis, and specialty-wise reports.

  • Share detailed payout statements with doctors and department heads.

  • Assist management with cost, margin, and productivity analysis.

6. Query Resolution & Coordination

  • Address doctor queries related to payouts and calculations.

  • Act as a liaison between doctors, billing, and finance teams.

  • Support internal and external audits related to doctor compensation.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of hospital billing and revenue cycles

  • Knowledge of doctor compensation models

  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy

  • Proficiency in Excel and hospital ERP/HIS systems

  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to handle confidential financial data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Management

  • MBA / M.Com / CA-Inter preferred (for senior roles)

Experience

  • 2–6 years in hospital finance, doctor payout, RCM, or healthcare accounts

  • Experience in multi-specialty hospitals preferred

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy of payout calculations

  • Timeliness of payout processing

  • Reduction in payout-related disputes

  • Compliance with contracts
