The Accounts Manager will oversee the complete finance and accounting function for the manufacturing unit. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, monitoring financial performance, and supporting management with accurate reporting and financial insights. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, taxation, and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain and oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely closing of books and accuracy in financial data.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis.
2. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
- Track and analyse production costs, wastage, overhead allocation, and BOM costing.
- Monitor inventory valuation, stock movement, and reconciliations.
- Support production and procurement teams with cost insights and variance analysis.
3. Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Handle tax returns, audits, and assessments with relevant authorities.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and consultants.
4. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic financial forecasting.
- Analyse financial performance vs. budget and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support management with financial insights for decision-making.
5. Process Improvement & Controls
- Implement and strengthen internal controls, policies, and SOPs.
- Review and optimise accounting processes for efficiency.
- Ensure ERP/Accounting system accuracy and updates.
6. Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
- Allocate responsibilities, review performance, and ensure effective workload management.
- Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field (CA/ICWA preferred but not mandatory).
- 5–10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Busy, Tally Prime etc.).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
