POSITION PURPOSE:
The Manager, Business Operations is responsible for overseeing and improving the day-to-day business operations within the Briggs Industrial Solutions organization. Manages relevant operational processes, ensuring efficiency, driving strategic initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. Focuses on optimizing workflows, managing resources effectively, and providing data-driven insights to support decision-making and drive operational excellence across the Company. Ensures all Briggs Industrial Solutions standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business goals. Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall business performance. Ensure that operational activities support the company’s long-term vision and growth objectives.
2. Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in business operations and design solutions to resolve them. Implement best practices and process improvements to increase productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Conduct regular assessments and audits of business operations to ensure continuous improvement.
3. Lead a team of operational staff, setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing support and guidance. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on accountability and growth. Lead team training and development initiatives as assigned to ensure skills are aligned with business needs.
4. Manage strategic customer initiatives both internally and externally facing. Oversee key business projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards. Coordinate across departments to ensure successful project execution and resolve any challenges that arise. Monitor and report on project progress, providing solutions to ensure the projects stay on track.
5. Analyze operational data to track business performance, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for improvement. Prepare detailed reports on operational performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and present findings to senior leadership. Use data to drive decision-making and inform strategic planning.
6. Collaborate with other departments such as finance, marketing, sales, IT, and HR to ensure alignment of operational strategies. Support and influence cross-departmental efforts to improve business processes and remove barriers to success. Act as a liaison between leadership and operational teams, ensuring communication and coordination are effective.
7. Assist in the development and management of operational budgets, ensuring financial efficiency. Monitor resource allocation and usage to ensure that the business operates within budgetary guidelines. Identify opportunities to optimize resource utilization, including staffing, technology, and capital.
8. Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to reduce potential impacts on business performance. Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards. Work with compliance teams to audit and monitor operations for adherence to established guidelines.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Knowledge & Competencies:- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in business management software, project management tools, and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Previous Experience/Education:- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years' experience in business operations or management
- 2+ years’ experience in leading others
- Experience in process improvement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration
