Manager - Design & Development

G M Fabrics is hiring " Manager - Design and Product Development" for Bedding Division.

Job Location: Marol, Andheri(East)

Job Role:

• Lead design and product development for bedding categories including bed sheets, duvet covers, comforters, quilts, pillow covers, and related products.
• Conduct market research, trend analysis, and competitor benchmarking to develop commercially viable collections.
• Create seasonal concepts, mood boards, color palettes, fabric selections, and design presentations for buyers.
• Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth product development.
• Oversee sampling, proto development, costing inputs, and approval processes.
• Work closely with international buyers to understand briefs and deliver customized developments.
• Ensure product compliance with quality standards, testing requirements, and sustainability norms.
• Monitor timelines from concept to bulk production and ensure on-time launches.
• Optimize fabric utilization, product construction, and value engineering initiatives.
• Lead and mentor the design team to foster creativity and innovation.

Education, Qualifications and Skill sets:

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field from a reputed institute.
• Min 8 + yrs of experience in designing bedding products and min 2+ yrs of experience in team handling
• Strong understanding of bedding materials, fabric constructions, printing techniques, and finishing processes.
• Knowledge of global home textile trends and consumer preferences.
• Expertise in CAD software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
• Strong aesthetic sense with commercial orientation.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines.
