Manager - EHS

India

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure adherence to India EHS laws such as Factories Act, 1948 & State factory rules,
Environmental Protection Act, Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions
Code, Hazardous waste rules, Air& Water pollution Control Acts, BIS (Bureau of India
Standards), and liaise with EHS&S related government bodies.
  • Workplace Safety& Risk Management, conduct risk assessments and implement control
measures. Investigate accidents/incidents, perform root cause analysis and
recommend corrective actions. Conduct regular inspections at both Bangalore and
Mumbai offices.
  • Health & Hygiene, monitor occupational health program such as identify occupational
hazards, manage first aid, medical facilities, and ensure first aider are well trained.
  • Oversee ergonomics program at office locations.
  • Environmental Protection, ensure waste management, monitor air/water emission to
ensure compliance and sustainability best practices.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives as necessary.
  • Training & Awareness, conduct EHS training programs for employees, contractors and
visitors, promote safety culture through organizing EHS committee, training, posters,
campaigns etc.
  • Maintain EHS records and submit mandatory reports to regulatory authorities, if
necessary, prepare for internal and external audit and inspections.
  • Work together with Operations Managers, APAC EHS&S Lead, and other key Site
Leadership to reduce EHS risk across the organization.
  • Provide regular and detailed status and trend analysis to Leadership.
  • Participate in the development of leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators
(KPIs) that deliver outstanding EHS performance and demonstrate a high level of
urgency around needed EHS paradigm culture shift change.
  • Analyse key EHS data and help develop prevention plans to address process or risks
gaps. Think strategically and ensure EHS Performance plans are timely, achievable, and
performance based.
  • Define and analyse data trends and EHS performance to ensure that the right priorities
are identified and acted upon for the organization.
  • Mentor leaders at all levels within the organization and use strong influencing skills
around EHS goals/values and that a strong EHS culture ensures business efficiency
targets can be met.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental, Health, Safety or Sustainability
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a comparable role as an EHS professional
knowledge and experience with EHS Management systems and their deployment
  • Displays strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Understands and can articulate EHS requirements and regulations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking skills and
presence in meetings and training environments
  • Demonstrates professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader
  • Ability to:
  • Persuade, influence, and make formal presentations
  • Lead, supervise, manage, and develop individuals and high-performance teams
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to build a results-driven, team-oriented
environment
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Make independent decisions
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
  • Use PC and related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the
equivalent Google programs)
  • Handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
  • Travel up to 20% (dependent on business needs and fluctuation)
