Manager, Exploration

Key Accountabilities
In this role, the individual will be an active safety leader.
Establish, lead, and drive exploration work programs to achieve the exploration strategy, targets, KPIs.
Develop drilling strategies, plans, and budgets in collaboration with the Director of Exploration and other stakeholders, emphasizing the identification and delineation of new mineral resources near existing mine sites.
Provide the technical framework, guidance, and peer review of exploration targets to the site-based team in achieving exploration objectives.
Lead continuous improvement in understanding of the economic geology of identified target areas.
Interpret drilling results and provide geological insights and recommendations to support resource estimation, optimization, and development planning decisions.
Support creation of a 5-year overview of exploration work, inventory delivery forecast, budget, and project pipeline advancement for Greenfields & Brownfields projects aligned to Maaden’s growth strategy and business plan.
Create and budget a detailed 2-year exploration work program to deliver business commitments.
Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm exploration plans are socially and environmentally responsible and Lands management through application of governance standards.
Track exploration performance against established KPIs, provide regular updates and analysis.
Ensure collaboration between technical teams, study and supporting cross functional teams, and business partners to solve execution challenges and leverage synergies.
Update and validate exploration programs in response to new data and economic, social, and environmental conditions.
Apply and govern the exploration systems and technical standards to confirm safe operations, productivity and drive standard methodology.
Support the ME group in desktop and field review of potential target areas, exploration properties and early-stage projects aligned with the Company’s long-term goals
Ensure an owner’s mind-set is applied to all elements of exploration to deliver efficient, smart & faster delivery of exploration programs and assessment of targets.

Design roles for team members who work for the Superintendents / Leads on your team

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Professional Degree in Geological Science or related degree


Minimum Experience: 
Over 13 years of industry experience, including a minimum of 8 years with a major mining company and experience of operating at a management level.

  • Frequent travel to BMNM CAGR exploration projects and/or mine sites will be required
  • Registered with relevant professional body (e.g. AusIMM PGeo) or qualified for immediate registration
  • Second language skills (Arabic) will be considered an asset
