SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, plays a critical role in growing the business through strategic analysis, financial and strategic planning, and comprehensive recommendations to senior management. The FP&A Manager has high visibility to senior leadership; they directly contribute to the analysis driving decision-making across the business and regularly collaborate on projects with multiple departments, including operations, culinary, procurement, marketing, real estate, and information technology. They oversee financial aspects of the business to ensure its profitability and growth.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Analyze historical financial data, market trends, and operational expenses to set realistic financial goals.

• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, budget vs. actual analysis, variance reports, and other key financial metrics.
• Conduct P&L reviews with management and restaurant field employees
• Manage cash flow to ensure the stability of the business; monitor and project cash flow to meet operational and debt service needs.

• Collaborate with other departments on projects such as new menu item testing and performance, pricing analysis, cost of sales and labor analysis and forecasting, menu evolution, new unit economics and marketing and promotional reviews.
• Perform ad hoc analysis as requested by the VP Finance, CFO, CEO, or other management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• BA or BS in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis.
• Experience in the multi-site retail and/or restaurant sector required.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders, including senior management, non-finance personnel, and external parties.
• Advanced in utilizing Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient with financial software and tools, including accounting and financial analysis software.
• Ability to understand data structures and ability to work with SQL.
• Deep understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cost control, is essential.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to interpret financial data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Adept at identifying financial challenges and finding creative solutions to address them.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent exposure to computers.
• Noise level and temperature are moderate.
• Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours a day.
• Occasionally required to stoop, bend, or kneel, lift up to 25 lbs.
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current salary pay range for this role is: $115,000 - $135,000.
