Manager, Information Technology Applications

JOB PURPOSE

Manage the development and implementation of systems and applications in a company, ensure accuracy and smooth workflow. Responsible revolve around devise strategies to optimize information technology applications, perform research and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of current procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the formulation and the implementation of the department plans ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategy and business plans.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to the area of activity ensuring that all relevant procedural and/or legislative requirements are fulfilled.
• Manage the day-to-day operations by facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
• Prepare the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget ensuring that the activities are executed as per the approved budget and that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.
• Manage the effective achievement of the department objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff and providing regular feedback in order to maximize employees’ performance.
• Provide support for existing applications systems. This may include analysing systems and data; monitoring systems performance; diagnosing problems and resolving these with users; making appropriate changes to documentation.
• Carry out system analysis, design and lead the process of system testing and ensures effective debugging.
• Plan and manage technology upgrades / new IT applications s for the company’s businesses.
• Oversee IT application projects including application upgrades, customization, and new application evaluation/selection/implementation.
• Establish and maintain standards for system and applications architecture, configuration, and documentation.
• Provide timely expert advice and speedy resolutions to support issues and resolve escalated issues from support groups.
• Manage the efficient, secure and smooth operations of the IT systems and applications, and communication links in order to provide the agreed level of infrastructure resources and services.
• Study functional requirements and discusses needs with users in order to understand and clarify the requirements from the application system to be developed.
• Work with users to define the requirements of an application and specifying an optimum design for subsequent development.
• Carry out adjustments or customization to the software in line with users’ requirements
• Implement systems into production to ensure that the required IT applications tools are available.
• Manage relationships with application vendors, inclusive of budgeting, renewals, and procurement.
• Coordinate with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand business processes and evolving application needs.
• Deliver first-class support across the employees base and exceed their expectations.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports to meet Company and department requirements, policies and standards.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or any specialized related fields.

A minimum of (8) years of work experience and (4) of which in a relevant function.

Experience with IFS Systems is required.
