Job Purpose
Under the leadership of the Managing Director, Strategy and Communications, the Manager, Internal Communications supports the development of and oversees the internal communications strategies, channels and methods that advance LT’s objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing LT’s internal communications channels.
- All-staff meetings:
- Develop and execute strategies and tactics for the content and delivery of monthly org-wide meetings.
- Plan the flow, content, strategize on how this connects to engagement.
- Employee Intranet:
- Serve as the lead business owner of the employee intranet including updating content, technical support, and working with departments on their internal messaging and content.
- Ensure content is aligned and consistent.
- Send out digests of key content to keep teammates engaged and informed.
- Leadership meetings:
- Develop a meeting strategy for executives and other senior leaders that supports teammate engagement and clear messaging.
- Take feedback from across the organization to understand the frequency and desired content to ensure teammates are heard.
- Internal messaging:
- Support the creation of internal messaging campaigns to clearly communicate goals, initiatives and outcomes, and to support employee engagement.
- Draft talking points and other aligned messaging for leaders and teams, to support in communicating their value propositions.
- Build strong internal relationships.
- All other duties as assigned. Contributes to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improves team and organization results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience in either a communications, public relations, strategy, or similar role.
- At least two business writing samples required.
- Must be skilled in communicating during organizational transitions, possess outstanding writing skills and excellent listening skills.
- Strong confidence and competence in public speaking. The successful candidate must be comfortable with frequent public speaking.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize a high volume of complex information and simplify it for communications purposes.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align communication plans with organizational priorities
- Comfortable managing up
- Experience with or willingness to learn an internal employee communications platforms.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and analytics.
