Job Description

Job Summary

Varthana is looking for a Manager - Legal who will be handling a group of legal officers, coaching, mentoring, and motivating the team members to achieve the targets. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to resolve recovery cases through the legal system, as well as for sending legal notices under various IPCs, dunning letters to past-due clients, filing sec 138, and appearing in court cases on behalf of the organization. The Manager will also be coordinating with the panel law firms or following up directly with delinquent customers.

Key Role Deliverables

Team Leadership and Team Development: Building a high-performing motivated team by working closely with the team members, coaching & mentoring, and leading them as an example
Collection Management:
Guiding the collections team to collect the due amounts from the customers by following a proper code
of conduct
Designing and circulating MIS on all aligned processes
Conducting detailed background checks before appointing an agency
Delinquency Management:
Ensuring zero delinquencies for the branch by timely and effective collections
Developing Communication / Legal letters / correspondence for the delinquent customers
Tracking and sending dunning letters to delinquent customers
Relationship Management:
Maintaining a solid relationship with lawyers & police officers and arbitrating for legal recourse by representing the company in courts of law
Ensuring regular follow-up with the panel law firms to file cases
Appointing law firms at branch locations, and allocating points to file across the branches
