Job Responsibilities:

Oversee Legal function for entire organization.

Oversee and guide Legal team in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and settling legal & transactional documents, manage overall Litigations for and against the company and Induction of measures for reduction of litigations.

Facilitate regulatory inspections, oversee filing of various documents / returns as required by regulatory bodies.

Identify and respond to ongoing regulatory changes and adapt to various policies and procedures; Liasoning with regulators on various matters.

Coordinate with other teams for due diligence, surveys and data collation for filings.

Lead the team to achieve business and individual objectives, manage performance, provide formal and informal feedback and motivate the staff.

Direct and ensure effective achievement of functional objectives and build the team by training, development and therefore enhance the capabilities of the staff.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.

Manage relationship with board, communicate effectively and demonstrate deep understanding of subject matter.

To advise and assist Legal & Compliance Department in preparation /vetting of documents/Contracts relating to Canara Robeco MF and the Company with the focus on Outsourcing Agreements; advisory agreements in Offshore mandates; Distribution Agreements; Premises related documents & any other contracts which may come up during the year including renewals of Custodian, R&T, IT,HR & Office Service agreements, SLAS. ETC

To advise & assist legal & Compliance Department in attending the day-to-day legal issues concerning other departments and branches.

To assist the Management Team, Board of Directors & Board of Trustees by offering clarification/giving interpretation to relevant legal provisions for policy formation and for compliance of statutory and regulatory matters.

To monitor and expedite disposal of legacy issues such as scam related cases and cases against the Company /Mutual Fund including consumer cases.

To Monitor cases relating to Non-performing Assets and bring about settlements & closures.

To Apprise the CEO /COO on the status of the litigation work from time to time besides helping Legal & Compliance Department in periodical reporting to the Boards, Orix (Robeco), Canara Bank on the status of the pending cases.

To assist and advise the Shareholder Engagement Department (SED) which has been created by the Company with a specific objective to centralize and facilitate smooth flow of information to/from the shareholders in any matter connected with the Business of the Company
Qualification :
LLB and CS
Minimum Work Experience:
10+ years of experience in financial services, preferably Mutual fund industry
