Job Description

This position is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation, leadership and management of the manufacturing plant. This position reports to the Plant Manager and regularly reports on plant performance. Direct reports to this position include a salaried staff including but not limited to Production Supervisors and Production Clerks. Indirect reports include all hourly employees at the plant.

• The Operations Manager is accountable for inspiring and executing strategies which achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability.
• Develop and Advance initiatives that promote and improve the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees.
• Maintain and drive safe, clean, orderly (5s), and environmentally compliant production operations.
• Follow and Enforce GMP’s in compliance with all food safety requirements.
• Inclusive oversight of all production and production support activities of the facility ensuring all are conducted in accordance with Company policies, principles, procedures, values, and standards.
• Effectively assess, mentor and coach direct reports to ensure optimum performance.
• Provide technical recommendations and implementation for continuous improvement in plant production process.
• Proactively conference and collaborate with customers, sales, and internal/external support resources to evaluate, develop, and promote strategies designed to improve service, flow, quality, and product value.
• Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Responsible and accountable for Operations Metrics to include: Turn-over, Service, Quality, Cost, OEE, Waste.
• Willingly undertake and perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
• Will have supervisors and lead personnel as well as the hourly production workforce as direct reports.
  
  

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• A Minimum of 5-7+ years of related experience as manager and/or training in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
• Proven technical leadership with the ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods.
• Experiences in 5S, Lean and Kaizen would be a plus.
• Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management to support the business
• Experience with SQF or ISO within a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  
  

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $109,000 - $182,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
