Position Title: Manager, Marketing & Communications
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with Occasional Travel
Reports To: Chief of Staff
United Benefits Advisors® (UBA), a collaborative community of independent employee benefits advisors, is seeking a Manager of Marketing & Communications to lead the execution of partner-facing communications and marketing initiatives that support UBA's programs, conferences, and strategic priorities. This role is ideal for a highly organized marketing and communications professional who excels at translating organizational priorities into clear, consistent and actionable communications and campaigns. The Manager of Marketing & Communications works closely with internal leadership, program owners, and Partner Relations to ensure alignment and effective delivery of messaging that supports UBA's value to Partner Firms and Alliances.
The successful candidate will bring strong project management, communication, and creative problem-solving skills to help translate ideas into effective marketing initiatives and impactful partner communications. This role plays an important part in maintaining and evolving the UBA brand while delivering high-quality, cohesive experience across communications, programs, and conferences.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Impactful Communications
Create clear, relevant, and engaging communications that help UBA Partner Firms and Alliances understand and act on UBA programs, initiatives, and opportunities.

Develop and distribute weekly and ongoing communications, including The Week Ahead, newsletters, and key program announcements.

Collaborate with Partner Relations and program leaders to ensure messaging reflects current priorities and supports engagement of Partner Firms.

Monitor the effectiveness of communication styles and channels and recommend improvements based on data and feedback.

Utilize tools, including AI, to develop timely, relevant content that resonates with partner audiences.

Ensure communications are clear, actionable, and aligned with UBA's voice and brand.
Collaborate and Execute Marketing and Communication Strategies for UBA Programs
Partner with internal leadership to plan and execute marketing and communication strategies that support UBA programs and initiatives.

Work with program owners to develop and support marketing and communication plans for key programs and initiatives such as the webinar series, academies, award programs, benchmarking, compliance resources, collaboration groups, and Partner Firm recruitment.

Support the development of success metrics, and track performance against defined goals.

Adjust campaigns based on performance data and leadership input.

Lead and support the Marketing Collaboration Group to foster idea sharing and continuous improvement with UBA Partner Firms.
Support Conference Marketing & Experience Delivery
Deliver high-quality marketing and communication support for UBA conferences and events.

Develop show flows and coordinate audiovisual production elements with event content.

Support event branding, including developing graphics to complement the theme and design.

Design and order all event signage.

Manage master presentation decks and ensure visual consistency across sessions, and develop between-session slides and media to promote UBA programs and Alliances.

Design the opening of general sessions including visual elements, videos, music selection, and opening scripts with input from leadership and the conference team.

Manage the design, ordering, and preparation of awards.

Develop and execute on a social media plan for conferences.

Coordinate external vendors as needed, including photography and videography.
Manage CommUnity Platform (Execution & Optimization)
Maintain and optimize the CommUnity platform as a hub for partner engagement.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders to improve structure, usability and content.

Manage content updates and work with technical resources at our software provider to implement plans, occasionally requiring HTML adjustments .

Measure and track platform usage and recommend improvements.
Maintain Brand and Communication Consistency
Ensure UBA's marketing and communications consistently reflect the organization's brand and values.

Maintain brand consistency across marketing materials and communication channels.

Develop and maintain an annual marketing and communications calendar to align initiatives and clarify priorities.

Develop and implement a social media strategy and calendar with leadership input and buy-in.

Collect and organize a library of photos of the UBA members for use in marketing and communication channels.

Coordinate closely with the Manager of Partner Programs & Communication to produce high-quality, accurate, and engaging content.

Stay informed on marketing and communications trends to continuously improve UBA's approach.

Contribute to cross-functional collaboration by participating in key internal planning groups and initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
- Experience with associations or in the employee benefits industry (preferred).

Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, succinct, and engaging messaging.

Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams.

High emotional intelligence and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, presentation tools, graphic design platforms, and social media management tools.

Experience working with digital communication platforms, association management systems, and marketing technologies to support content distribution, engagement, and program marketing initiatives.

Comfort working with website platforms and emerging technologies, including basic HTML, marketing automation tools, graphic design and AI-assisted content development (preferred).

Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Travel Requirements

Occasional travel required (approximately 10-15%), including in-person attendance at three major annual conferences.
