Role Summary
The Manager – Metadata oversees the creation, organization, and governance of metadata for all media assets, including videos, audio files, images, graphics, and digital content. This role ensures accurate tagging, categorization, and structuring of content to improve discoverability, distribution, archiving, and content management across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage metadata standards and taxonomies for media assets (programs, episodes, promos, thumbnails, audio tracks, scripts, etc.).
- Supervise the metadata team responsible for tagging, cataloging, and updating media asset information.
- Ensure metadata accuracy for content ingestion, editing, scheduling, broadcasting, OTT uploads, and archival.
- Coordinate with production, programming, digital, and broadcast teams to gather content details and verify metadata.
- Manage metadata workflows in CMS, MAM (Media Asset Management), DAM, and OTT delivery platforms.
- Implement naming conventions, genre classifications, keywords, cast/crew details, and rights information.
- Conduct regular metadata quality checks, audits, and corrections.
- Work with SEO/digital teams to optimize metadata for searchability on media platforms and YouTube/OTT.
- Ensure metadata compliance with broadcast standards, legal requirements, and content rights management.
- Support integration of metadata with scheduling systems, analytics dashboards, and distribution pipelines.
- Prepare reports on content metadata accuracy, performance, and workflow improvements.
- Train staff on metadata protocols and best practices within the media environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of media metadata, content taxonomy, and media asset management workflows.
- Familiarity with systems such as MAM/DAM, CMS, OTT CMS tools, YouTube Studio, broadcast scheduling systems.
- Knowledge of media formats, file structures, and production terminology.
- Excellent organizational and quality-checking skills.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with creative, production, and technical teams.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced media environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Mass Communication, Information Science, IT, or related fields.
- 3–7 years of experience in metadata management in media, broadcasting, OTT, or digital content teams.
- Experience with content management systems and media asset management software is highly preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
