Manager of Accounting and Assistant Treasurer

The Church of the Brethren is seeking to fill a full-time, salaried position of Manager of Accounting and Treasurer Assistant. The Manager of Accounting and Treasurer Assistant is part of the Finance team and reports directly to Director of finance and Treasurer.

The Manager of Accounting and Assistant Treasurer is responsible for the functions of handling the general ledger processes and report generation, provides account analysis and reconciliations, provides internal audit processes and carries out other assigned functions. Lead audit preparation for annual CPA audit.

Skills and knowledge required:

• Accounting skills and knowledge of computerized general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll systems required.
• Ability to work and communicate well with others.
• Must be mature in judgment and character and can maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills required.

· Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.

• Analytic and problem-solving abilities required.
• Spreadsheet and word processing software skills required.
• Proficient at 10-key.

Experience:

• At least three years of accounting experience, fund accounting preferred.
• At least three years working on a computerized financial accounting software system.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required.

· Training in computers is required.

· Fund accounting classes are preferred.

Location:

Church of the Brethren General Offices in Elgin, Illinois.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
