About the Role

Reporting to the Provost, the Library Manager will oversee all library operations while leading the strategic shift toward smart, technology-driven library services. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping a next-generation academic library aligned with AURAK’s strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the University Library (physical and digital).
  • Drive the implementation of modern library technologies, including:
    • Integrated Library Systems (ILS)
    • Digital repositories and cloud-based platforms
    • AI-powered tools (e.g., chatbots, smart search, automated cataloguing)
  • Develop and implement a Library Digital Transformation Strategy.
  • Enhance user experience through data analytics, user insights, and digital engagement tools.
  • Oversee digital collections, e-resources, and open-access initiatives.
  • Provide advanced research support services, including bibliometrics and AI-assisted literature search.
  • Lead innovation in smart learning spaces and hybrid library environments.
  • Manage library staff, budget, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Build partnerships with academic departments and external stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a modern, innovative library leader with a strong background in digital libraries and emerging technologies.

Essential Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Library & Information Science (or related field)
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in academic libraries
  • Proven experience managing digital library systems and services
  • Strong understanding of modern library technologies and platforms

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with AI tools in libraries or higher education
  • Knowledge of:
    • Data analytics and reporting tools
    • Research databases (Scopus, Web of Science, etc.)
    • Digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience in leading change and innovation in library services
