Inter Agency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies, Inc. (IAC) champions, supports and advises over 160 member organizations that are New York’s leading providers of support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Training, Events & Member Services!
- The person in this role will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring all outward facing communications to IAC membership and key stakeholders in private, public and government communities.
LOCATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- This is a HYBRID (In-Person/Remote) position based in Manhattan, NY.
- Travel to various locations around NYC on a regular basis, as well as outside of NYC occassionally (ie. Albany) is required in order to attend and/or identify potential event venues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. **Communications
- Write, edit, and produce high-quality content (press releases, newsletters, web copy, social posts, annual reports, etc.).
- Manage social media platforms, website content, and email campaigns, identifying new opportunities for engagement.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to align messaging and support initiatives.
- Ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity across all materials.
- Provide communications support for organizational events and campaigns such as conferences, trainings, IAC Votes, IAC Lobby Days, etc.
- Track and analyze communication metrics to refine strategies and report on impact.
2. **Training/Events
- Assist the AVP with designing and organizing all IAC trainings and events by promoting training opportunities to ensure maximum visibility and support a seamless experience for all IAC members and stakeholders.
- Assist in facilitating virtual and in person trainings and events.
- As part of the conference planning team, research, book and manage relationships with venues, caterers, presenters, and other contractors.
3. **Member Services
- Serve as IAC’s point of contact to assist Members with any technical difficulties related to event, including registration, etc.
- Support Member initiatives by cross-promoting events via IAC’s social media platforms and website.
- Promote IAC events/services by researching, exploring and identifying potential partners to grow IAC reach/network.
4. **Provide excellent customer service and represent IAC in a professional manner when interacting with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide solution-oriented, high-level technical expertise and support to IAC Members in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate orally with the public, employees, colleagues, government officials, and IAC Members in one-on-one and group settings.
- Advocate on behalf of IAC Members with other stakeholders including Regulatory entities, etc. to seek effective resolution of issues consistent with IAC mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience, marketing, digital media, or social media management preferred.
- Proven success developing and implementing marketing and social media strategies including coordinating promotional campaigns to drive event attendance and engagement
- Strong copywriting and content creation skills across multiple platforms
- Experience managing social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Google Analytics)
- Proficiency with design and content tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and digital advertising best practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Experience working in nonprofit or community organizations (preferred)
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and Salesforce MCAE (preferred)
- Familiarity with Wordpress website hosting platform (preferred)
- Some experience with planning and executing both in person and virtual events a plus
- Knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Office

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
