Responsibilities
- The main purpose of Manager – Package (C&A) role is to coordinate / liaise with the specialized subcontractor, Company departments and client about all issues related to the contractual designs, shop drawings, material submittals and approvals for each package under his responsibility.
- Support the development of KSA national employees across the function to support corporate objectives, Saudization targets and the knowledge dissemination culture to ensure optimal building of internal capabilities and maximize their performance
- Provide inputs to Human Resources on succession planning, employee career growth, and organizational structure
- Manage and conduct the affairs of the team with the highest standards of respect, integrity, accountability, agility, quality, safety and corporate governance
- Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics policy and adopting company values across all function’s employees and provide leadership to reinforce a strong people culture and ethical business practices
- Manage the adoption and utilization of systems and ERP in the function
- Represent the organization and enhance relationships in dealings with client, consultants and regulatory authorities to ensure all agreements are implemented
- Possess technical competence with disciplines of civil & architect works in the construction industry environment
- Perform on-site oversite of civil design and installation by the general contractor
- Conduct necessary field Investigations, provide Field Inspections, prepare concise and distribute timely associated reports
- Receive, review, coordinate, track and process RFIs
- Prepare change order packages including preparing an independent estimate with final recommendations
- Work with the Project Controls Engineers to ensure that a robust, fully resourced and risked Program is produced for the delivery of Packages or Sub Projects.
- Work with the design engineers, quantity surveyors and procurement expeditors on the packages or sub projects to ensure seamless integration and transition from design completion, tender selection, manufacture, off-site testing, delivery, construction, installation, inactive commissioning and handover
- Undertake an assessment of all risks relating to Quality Health Safety and Environment (QHSE) of the Works fulfilling requisite information security requirements
- Monitor, review and report the Packages or Sub Projects requirements/achievements
- Undertake regular reviews of supply chain/sub-contractors’ methods of work to ensure they remain suitable for the task
- Monitor works to ensure compliance with agreed systems of work
- Ensure that all statutory inspections are carried out
- Identify any training needs for the project teams and ensuring a plan is provided
- Use all recording tools and data to keep an accurate position of the project program
- Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace
- Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System
- Ensure that each package subcontractor is fully aware of their scope of works and their contractual obligations to the project
- Liaise with each package subcontractor to ensure that the relevant package is aligned with the project schedule, material submittals, shop drawings, etc.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Procurements departments for all discrepancies, modification and changes
- Responsible for the close follow up to obtain approvals on all material submittals, samples submittals, shop drawings and mock ups related to each package including the preparation of all logs and reports
- Coordinate with each package subcontractor the submission of RFIs related to method statements, material submittal and shop drawings submittal
- Manage the full package from start to completion
- Follow up closely with the package subcontractor the closure of all related NCRs
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Science or relevant degree related to project management and/or construction is required
- 8 years of experience in construction and project management, of which at least 4 years in Construction managerial position
- Proficiency in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus)Proficient in MS Office Suites
- Well versed in construction project safety, NEBOSH or OSHA certification is mandatory
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention of detail
- Highly skilled in team management and able to work cohesively as part of the wider organization
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects with a focus on results
- Strong cost awareness and impact on business bottom line
- Good knowledge in Construction Management, QA/QC Management, and Contractual Management
Demonstrate high level of knowledge in civil construction management along with project management skills
