The Manager of Virtualization Services manages, creates, implements, and supports the Virtualization infrastructure for the enterprise. In this role, the incumbent will be a champion to drive the transformation from a technology-centric organization to become an indispensable partner of the business by creating business value and responding rapidly to changing business requirements.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, business, or a related field. In lieu of degree, five (5) years of progressive technical and leadership experience in
infrastructure engineering, platform delivery, and automation may be considered in addition to the experience requirements listed below.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
Minimum seven (7) years of infrastructure engineering experience across cloud, virtualization, network, and/or storage platforms required.
Minimum three (3) years of experience leading platform, automation, or infrastructure modernization initiatives required.
Minimum two (2) years of people leadership experience, including managing senior technical staff and cross-functional teams required.
Demonstrated experience delivering Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation pipelines, or standardized build patterns required.
Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries preferred.
Experience operating within Agile or SAFe delivery models preferred.
Working knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 or later framework required.

- Assists with capacity planning, prioritization, and resource allocation across delivery and
automation workstreams.

• Contributes to strategic planning and roadmap development for infrastructure platforms and

• Defines and enforces clear boundaries between Platform Engineering (Tier 3, delivery, automation) and services teams (Tier 1/2 operations) and ensures effective escalation paths and collaboration with service teams without direct ownership of Tier 1/2 ticket queues.
• Drives adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and reusable modules to reduce manual effort and hand-offs.
• Ensures infrastructure changes and additions follow defined quality, change management, and
security processes prior to production release.
• Ensures platform work is received and executed through governed intake mechanisms, including Agile features and approved engineering work requests and owns platform delivery outcomes, balancing delivery and automation capacity to meet enterprise priorities.
• Establishes and leads the Platform Engineering team responsible for Tier 3 engineering
remediation, net-new builds, major upgrades, and infrastructure modernization.
• Identifies opportunities for cost optimization and efficient investment in infrastructure platforms, tooling, and skills.
• Implements and enforces adherence to information security, disaster recovery, and business
continuity standards.
• Manages hiring, coaching, performance management, and professional development of platform engineers.
• Monitors platform performance, reliability, and technical debt, recommending improvements and modernization initiatives.
• Oversees development and publication of standard build patterns, pipelines, and templates
consumable by service teams and partners with architecture and engineering enablement functions to codify standards and guardrails.
• Partners with stakeholders to align platform outcomes with business objectives.
• Provides regular reporting on platform delivery status, risks, and key performance indicators.
