We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Revenue Manager to join our Chicago-based Pricing team. Someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity, data, and business impact. Reporting to the VP of Revenue & Business Intelligence, this role is pivotal in driving revenue performance across our portfolio by optimizing new lease pricing, renewals, and ancillary income streams. Leveraging advanced tools such as LRO, MRI, and other industry-leading systems, you’ll turn data into actionable insights that directly influence profitability. Beyond the numbers, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Property Management, Investments, Marketing, and Sales to shape and execute innovative revenue strategies. This is an opportunity to make a measurable impact, build strong internal partnerships, and play a key role in elevating our overall revenue performance.
Please note: Our current onsite work schedule requires attendance from Monday through Thursday each week, with remote work permitted on Fridays.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work collaboratively across EQR departments and functions to establish and update a strategic plan that maximizes value and enhances returns for every asset within the portfolio.
- Develops long and short-term pricing and revenue management strategies to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Oversee pricing and revenue management for all assigned locations.
- Must gain an understanding of the LRO revenue management software model.
- Communicates and coordinates with VP of Revenue & Business Intelligence, regional staff, RM and VP’s of Property Management to understand trends and needs.
- Ensures accurate competitive pricing inputs to pricing model and analyzes competitive pricing strategies to formulate an appropriate competitive response.
- Manages pricing system upgrades to revenue team and properties as necessary.
- Participates in pricing report design and user acceptance testing process associated with the development of new enhancements to the property management and pricing system.
- Performs duties normally associated with a managerial position, such as training, evaluating, analyzing and presenting to senior staff members.
- Travels, as necessary to understand pricing, teach pricing at properties and regions, review competitive practices
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field required. MBA preferred.
- Three to Five years of management experience in pricing, revenue management, analytical marketing, or finance. (A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration at management’s discretion.)
- Understanding of revenue and pricing management concepts. Strong business judgment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial and property data.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to plan, organize, be responsive to inquiries, and work independently as well as in teams.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Must be comfortable working autonomously and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment with changing deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Applications, LRO, Yieldstar, or other revenue management software is preferred.
Salary: $111,000 - $136,000 per year ; in addition to base salary, a discretionary (13%) annual bonus is provided.
The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
