The Manager, Procurement oversees procurement activities across Kerzner International's global office, ensuring that all purchasing activities align with Kerzner s strategic goals. This role requires a strong background in various sectors as well as identifying operational needs, selecting suppliers, and maintaining vendor relationships for ultra-luxury hospitality properties including Atlantis, One&Only, SIRO, and Rare Finds brands worldwide. This position reports to the Director, Procurement and ensures alignment of procurement practices with Kerzner's vision, corporate values, operating standards, and policies while maintaining compliance with government regulations and international trade requirements.

The role builds clear and open lines of communication with all departments while conducting supplier interviews, obtaining specifications and quotations, handling correspondence, and negotiating for procurement. The position selects suppliers impartially based on cost, product specifications, operational efficiency, quality, timely delivery, and ability to source goods locally, while analyzing market trends to anticipate price fluctuations and maintain optimal inventory levels across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day procurement operations at Global Office, including order processing, inventory management and supplier onboarding
  • Align management style, working practices, and conduct with Kerzner's vision, corporate values, operating standards, and policies
  • Ensure Policies and Procedures are in place and operating
  • Build clear and open lines of communication with all departments to understand procurement needs and requirements
  • Conduct interviews with suppliers and representatives to obtain information, specifications, quotations, and handle subsequent correspondence
  • Negotiate procurement contracts and agreements ensuring favorable terms, conditions, and pricing for Kerzner properties
  • Select suppliers impartially based on cost, ability to meet product specifications, efficiency, and quality of operations
  • Evaluate suppliers on delivery performance, ability to source goods locally, and capability to avoid lengthy importation delays
  • Understand and abide by all government laws relating to procurement department across international jurisdictions
  • Liaise with government departments including Animal and Plant Inspection Office and Hygiene Office to ensure clearance and inspections
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate price fluctuations for purpose of maintaining inventory for appropriate time periods
  • Monitor and control financial aspects of procurement including assisting with preparation of annual business plan
  • Create environment that trains, coaches, and mentors colleagues related to procurement activities and best practices
  • Serve as administrator on procurement system ensuring systems are working and maintained at high standards
  • Be innovative and critical of operating standards and procedures to drive continuous improvement
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by Director, Procurement or VP, Corporate Finance

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in business-related field required
  • Minimum 2-4 years of working experience in similar procurement role with focus on strategic sourcing and contract development
  • Experience in hospitality, luxury goods, or related industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work with commitment to accuracy in procurement
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of achieving favorable supplier terms and cost savings
  • Experience with procurement systems knowledge advantageous
  • Understanding of international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export procedures
  • Self-motivated, approachable, and friendly person with ability to work effectively as part of team
  • Knowledge of supplier selection criteria and vendor management best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel for data analysis and reporting
