Position Summary
Provides the coordination of staffing and supplies for the daily operation of the Respiratory Department and Pulmonary Function Services. Supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Facilitates and coordinates the departments operations
2. Coordinates the departments in a fiscally responsible manner
3. Facilitates and coordinates respiratory care to patients
4. Documentation of care
5. Maintains professional development
6. Education of Patient and Family
7. Patient advocate
8. Maintains Patient Safety
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Graduate of accredited school of Respiratory Therapy; Associate Degree in Healthcare Field
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
At least 5 years acute care Respiratory Therapy experience.
Preferred:
Two years of supervisory/management experience in a health care setting.
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
Current registered Respiratory Therapist through the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current New Jersey licensure in Respiratory Care. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers upon hire. ACLS certification required if not ACLS upon hire, must obtain within 2 years.
Preferred:
PALS Certification.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Use hospital approved equipment. Good communication and conflict resolution skills. Delegate appropriate tasks, excellent interpersonal skills, shows initiative and possesses good problem solving ability. Computer literate.
