Job Description
The Regional Dry Container Planning & Steering Manager owns the regional repositioning plan for standards.
Reports to: Administrative; Senior Manager Regional Container Flow Planning & Steering
Responsibilities
- Manage imbalances and steer Hapag-Lloyd's global standard container fleet on regional level by planning empty repositionings and conducting bookings for empty shipments.
- Define and implement measures to increase the utilization of Hapag-Lloyd's container fleet, considering fleet and repositioning costs and generated contribution levels.
- Ensure optimal utilization of available vessel capacities for the repositioning of empty containers in cooperation with Trade Management, Network, and Regional Operations.
- Plan dedicated vessels to evacuate or supply empty containers in cooperation with Chartering, Network, Trade Management and Regional Operations.
- Analyze large sets of operational and financial data using different analytical tools.
- Prepare management presentations and decision memos, conduct regular logistics meetings.
Qualifications
- University degree in business administration, operations, logistics, or transportation management, industrial engineering, finance, or information technology is a plus.
- Experience in global logistics and/or container shipping.
- Reliable and motivated team player with excellent communication skills verbally and in writing.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong ownership of own tasks and responsibilities.
- Analytical mindset and ability to analyze large structured or unstructured data sets.
- Good understanding of IT tools such as MS Office, Qlik, and FIS/COMPASS.
- Fluent in business English.
