Role Summary:

Hello Bello is looking for a strong leader to join our team as a Shift Operations Manager at our Fulfillment and Manufacturing facility in Waco, Texas. You will be responsible for supervising a large manufacturing operations team on assigned shifts with the goal of promoting a safe and highly efficient production operation to produce our best-in-class plant-based diapers. As our Shift Operations Manager, you will train and mentor associates, contribute to continuous process improvement and ensure that proper quality, sanitation, and safety guidelines are being met on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a team of 40+ manufacturing operators and technicians, including all performance management related tasks, such as coaching, guiding and developing the team while continuously improving labor efficiency and utilization
  • Ensure that all operators are properly trained to operate the equipment in a safe, productive, and efficient manner
  • Works directly with Manufacturing Operations teams on projects to improve quality, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses
  • Creates and tracks productivity metrics for shift efficiency, through-put and run rate improvements
  • Monitor the production of goods or effectiveness of services; ensure accurate amount is produced at the right quality and cost
  • Administer procedures to ensure that products are manufactured, packaged, and assembled according to applicable engineering documentation and specifications
  • Continuously improves overall operation and site performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes
  • Prevent unneeded production waste by continuously improving processes and quality
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Identifies and establishes key performance indicators (KPI's) in production
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Must be open to working extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Must be willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Degree preferred in the field of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Management or other related discipline, or appropriate combination of education and or relevant practical experience a plus
  • 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience developing, managing, and coaching large teams
  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production
  • Familiarity with industry standards, equipment, technical expertise, and regulations
  • Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and ability to effectively implement these processes; Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred
  • Ability to build collaborative teams and cultivate a positive work environment with an emphasis on trust and empowerment
