We are Hazel Seybert Consulting - A boutique consulting firm dedicated to helping leaders and their teams transform their business, particularly in the area of analytics and project management.
Overview
We are seeking a high-impact Internal Supply Chain Consultant to act as a strategic utility player within our Supply Chain team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Supply Chain Inventory, you will bridge the gap between data-driven problem identification and operational execution. This role is designed for a "boots-on-the-ground" strategist who can numerically diagnose root causes—such as evaluating the financial and operational case for decommissioning a distribution center—and then pivot to lead the project through to a successful launch. You are part data scientist, part project manager, and part cross-functional diplomat.
What You Will Do
- Numerical Problem Solving: Identify supply chain bottlenecks and root causes through rigorous data analysis; build the business case for major shifts (e.g., DC launches or closures) using financial modeling and KPIs.
- Execution & Playbook Management: Utilize project management tools and established playbooks to lead large-scale initiatives from inception to the "finish line."
- Cross-Functional Facilitation: Host and lead joint meetings between Inventory and Operations to align on solving high-stakes problems and ensure transparent communication.
- Milestone Tracking & KPIs: Define, track, and report on critical milestones and performance metrics to ensure new facilities or processes meet their intended ROI at launch.
- Internal Advisory: Lead internal maturity assessments of our sourcing, procurement, and operational practices to identify gaps and develop executable improvement plans.
- Strategy to Action: Determine the correct methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to solve a specific problem and partner with stakeholders to capture savings and efficiency gains.
Ideal Profile
- The Utility Player: You are a self-starter who takes total ownership, moving fluidly between a high-level strategy presentation and a detailed project plan.
- The Analytical Consultant: You have a creative mind for data and can articulate complex technical concepts—and their business impacts—to everyone from warehouse staff to executives.
- The Finisher: You are obsessed with getting a problem to the finish line, ensuring that solutions are not just suggested but fully operationalized.
- Collaborative Leader: You excel at managing "the middle," keeping both Inventory and Ops teams accountable and focused on a singular goal.
