The Manager, Workplace Enterprise Applications is responsible for owning the stability, governance, and long-term evolution of OpenGov’s core workplace application platforms. This role ensures internal tools are reliable, scalable, and well-documented
This role is based in Pune, India and works closely with US-based Operations and Enterprise Systems leadership teams. Strong cross-regional communication, collaboration, and comfort operating across time zones are critical to success.
This is a player-coach role requiring hands-on administrative experience across workplace systems, combined with the ability to lead a small team and define frameworks that support long-term platform stability.
Own the configuration, governance, and lifecycle of OpenGov’s “workplace” application platforms, including collaboration, productivity, and identity-related systems
Serve as the primary owner for application-level IAM configuration and access workflows within in-scope systems
Lead and mentor a team of workplace application administrators, setting standards for quality, documentation, and operational consistency
Remain hands-on in core systems as needed, particularly during periods of growth, transition, or new capability build-out
Define and enforce configuration standards and guardrails to ensure reliability, security, and scalability
Partner closely with US-based Enterprise Systems, Operations, and Engineering leaders to align execution with global standards and priorities
Act as the primary interface between Workplace Applications and IT Operations, Security, HR, Legal, and other internal teams
Review incoming requests and ensure solutions are grounded in a clear understanding of the business problem being solved
Push back on unclear requirements or over-complex solutions, proposing simpler and more scalable approaches when appropriate
Ensure all delivered work includes appropriate documentation, references, and diagrams in Jira and Confluence
Help define and evolve frameworks that support long-term platform stability and reduce single-threaded dependencies
Support helpdesk workflows related to workplace applications, ensuring clean handoffs and clear ownership boundaries
Contribute to improving observability, reliability, and reuse across workplace systems and workflows
Required
5+ years of experience administering enterprise workplace or internal business applications
Hands-on administrative experience with tools such as Okta, Slack, the Atlassian suite, , Google Workspace, and Zoom.
Strong understanding of IAM concepts and application-level access models within SaaS platforms
Demonstrated ability to operate as a player-coach, balancing hands-on work with people leadership
Strong written communication skills, with experience producing clear documentation and standards
Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders in a shared-ownership model
Preferred
Prior experience managing or mentoring technical administrators (first-time managers considered with strong IC background)
Experience working in a global or distributed team environment
Familiarity with automation or workflow tools (e.g., Okta Workflows, low-code automation platforms)
Experience partnering closely with IT Operations and Security teams
