Position Overview
We are looking for a visionary Manual Jewellery Designer to join our design cell. This role is at the heart of our USA-focused B2B model, where you will bridge the gap between artistic creativity and commercial manufacturing. You will be responsible for conceptualizing hand-drawn designs that resonate with US retail trends—from classic bridal to modern high-fashion luxury.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualization: Develop original, hand-drawn sketches for rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, and necklaces.
Market Alignment: Design specifically for the US Retail Market, focusing on trends like minimalist luxury, vintage-inspired bridal, and gender-neutral fine jewellery.
Technical Spec Sheets: Create precise "Master Sheets" including exact measurements, stone counts, prong placements, and metal thickness.
Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate daily with CAD Designers (Matrix/Rhino) to ensure manual sketches are technically viable for 3D modeling and casting.
Client Customization: Translate specific buyer "briefs" into unique design concepts while maintaining the Skylab Diamond aesthetic.
Trend Analysis: Research and present seasonal mood boards based on global jewellery forecasts.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Artistry: Exceptional hand-sketching and rendering skills (ability to show depth, light, and metal finish on paper).
Gemology Knowledge: Deep understanding of diamond cuts (Round, Oval, Emerald, Radiant, etc.) and how they interact with different settings.
Setting Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Prong, Pave, Bezel, Channel, Halo, and Pressure settings.
Manufacturing IQ: A solid grasp of gold weight estimation and the lost-wax casting process to ensure designs are "production-friendly."
Education: Diploma or Degree in Jewellery Design (GIA, IGI, or reputed design institutes preferred).

Preferred Attributes
2+ years of experience in a high-end diamond export house.
A portfolio that demonstrates "Fine Jewellery" (Real Diamonds/Gold) rather than fashion or imitation jewellery.
Ability to work under tight deadlines for seasonal US trade shows (JCK Las Vegas, etc.).
