Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce precision parts that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in mechanical knowledge and various machining techniques will drive the success of our production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to innovative manufacturing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other machining tools with precision and safety
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Perform setup and calibration of tooling and fixtures for various machining operations
  • Conduct quality inspections using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify part tolerances
  • Maintain and troubleshoot manual machining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance
  • Assist in assembly processes when required, utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling supplies
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role with a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of CNC programming basics for understanding machine operations (experience with Fanuc controls is a plus)
  • Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is desirable
  • Ability to operate CNC lathes and milling machines or support their setup when needed
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
  • Tig welding knowledge is beneficial
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and adjustments
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, tooling management, welding techniques, and safety procedures in a manufacturing setting
  • Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
